Andy Warhol "small is beautiful" exhibit,

Reading Elementary School is fortunate to have access to a world-class contemporary art collection, the Hall Art Foundation, on an adjacent property. Teachers and students are able to walk next door, crossing a bridge over the North Branch of the Black River, to view rotating exhibitions of drawings, paintings, prints, multi-media pieces, film and video installations with a knowledgable docent. An outdoor sculpture park and hiking trails provide opportunities to picnic, explore, create art "en plein air" or simply sit and take in the scenery.
In October, we visited Sculpturefest, an outdoor sculpture park on the property of Charlet and Peter Davenport in West Woodstock, VT. The changing installations feature a wide selection of small and large scale works by numerous regional artists. Visual Arts teacher, Lisa Kaija, prepared a scavenger hunt to encourage RES students to observe carefully as they explored.
Students visited the park to explore the exhibits and to create art with Sean Hunter Williams.
On Tuesday, May 9, 2023 Morgan Toney and Keith Mullins visited RES to share their fusion of music. Click here to see a snippet of their performance at RES.
