* Scratch is a free visual programming language that was developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Scratch is used by students, scholars, teachers, and parents to easily create animations, games, etc. and provide a stepping stone to the more advanced world of computer programming. We use Scratch, Jr with the iPads in grades Kindergarten and First Grade. Second and up will use Scratch on their Chromebooks.

Mitchel Resnick is the lead creator of Scratch.
This is Mitchel Resnick at the 2016 summer Scratch Conference presenting to the international group of Scratchers. It was an awesome conference, and I learned so much. For instance, how to combine Scratch programming with the Makey Makey. We do that activity in grades four and up.
