My name is Eileen Laverty Vaughn. I have worked as a Library Media Specialist in Vermont for the past 20 years. I am very fortunate because I truly love my work. My employer is Windsor Central Supervisory Union (WCUUSD) in Woodstock, Vermont, and this year I travel to two elementary schools: Barnard Academy and Killington Elementary Schoo. My job involves children, teachers, books and technology. I see about 150 different students each week. What a life!
Previously, I taught in the classroom in various grades from grade two through grade eight. When not teaching, I enjoy the visual arts. I love to paint and visit art museums. My favorite vacation spot is Maine, where I can walk barefoot along the sandy beach.
This is me in Boston at Alan November's 2008 BLC conference. I presented a GoogleLit Trip on the book, The Wanderer, by Sharon Creech.
I first learned about Scratch during this conference. I continue to try to connect and collaborate, especially with the teachers at my schools.
My personal website is continually under construction, eileenvaughn.com
I have also presented other tech projects at Vermont Fest in Killington, VT and Dynamic Landscapes in Burlington, VT.
