The goal of the Wauseon EVS Counseling Department is to positively impact the lives of our students by partnering with parents, community resources, faculty, and staff to provide a foundation for educational and social competencies. These competencies will help instill personal growth, love of learning, responsible citizenship, and lifelong success in a diverse and ever-changing world.

What is a school counselor?
According to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), a counselor serves a vital role in maximizing student success by implementing programs that support student academics, social and emotional growth, personal development, and career and college readiness.
Why would I need to see a school counselor?
There is no "wrong" reason to see a school counselor. They can help you with a variety of issues including but not limited to:
-academic issues
-family/friend issues
-personal issues
-college readiness
-financial aid
How can I see my school counselor?
Come to the office and ask to speak with someone or catch them in the hallway! Mrs. Westfall and Mrs. Vorwerk are more than happy to help WHS students in any way possible!
