Treble Choir is a 9-12 treble ensemble. This ensemble works on music literacy skills such as score markings, solfége, takadimi rhythm reading, breath management, and tone production. Treble choir also works toward making a number of cross curricular connections, including language arts, biology & anatomy, social studies, and cultural studies. Treble Choir works on easy to medium level treble literature exploring baroque, classical, romantic, contemporary, and jazz/pop music. Treble Choir typically performs at 4 home concerts per school year and at the IHSMA Large Group Festival. Students enrolled in Treble Choir may participate in the IHSMA Solo/Small Ensemble Festival in March. As a course requirement, all students take individual lessons.
This choir is comprised of individuals who sing treble voice parts (soprano/alto) and are not signed up for Symphonic Band.
