Chamber Choir is the premiere ensemble of the Vinton-Shellsburg Choral Department. This select group is made up of largely 10th-12th graders who go through a rigorous audition process. Chamber Choir performs in contests throughout the Midwest and rehearses throughout the entire school year. In 2016 they inspired a new sacred music chamber festival at The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe through their performance at the Onalaska Choir Classic. At home, the Chamber Choir performs at 4 home concerts per school year, the annual Veteran's Day assembly, and for many organizations and events around the community during the holidays. Chamber Choir also participates in the WaMaC Choral Festival & IHSMA Solo/Ensemble and Large Group festivals.

Chamber Choir students are also active participants in honor choirs throughout the year, including: Dorian Vocal Festival, University of Northern Iowa Vocal Arts Festival, Meistersinger Honor Choir, U of Iowa Hawkeye Honors Festival, Central Singfest, and the ACDA Regional and National Honor Choirs.

Chamber Choir auditions are held every spring. Students must be available outside of school hours due to the demands of the performance schedule of this group.
