Meet Ms. Crews
My Professional Background
I graduated from U.C. San Diego with a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Putting my education into action, I worked as a chemist for a local biotech company after graduation. Later, I went back to school and earned a JD from U.C. Davis. I worked in Washington D.C., which gave me the opportunity to learn about our government from the inside. After taking some time off to raise my children, I received my teaching credentials from Cal. State San Marcos. I teach Math and Science as well as STEM based Design Labs at VIDA, and I want to share my enthusiasm for these subjects with all of my students.
My Life
I have been teaching Math and Science in the Vista Unified School District since 2009. I live in Oceanside with my husband, Doug, and our family of pets. We have three kids in their twenties.
In my spare time, I like to do math and logic puzzles (nerdy, but true). I also enjoy traveling, and am amazed at the many ways that my adventures impact my teaching. I love teaching, and I am incredibly proud to be part of the founding faculty at VIDA.
