1 CREDIT (FRESHMEN - SENIOR)
This course introduces the student to the careers and work of the auto and transportation industry. Also the student who is going to drive and or own an auto will learn practical skills to maintain that automobile. Emphasis will be placed on; safety, proper use and identification of hand tools, precision measurement, shop procedures, work habits, work attitudes, engine theory, and engine systems. Students will get hands-on experience disassembling, measuring, repairing, adjusting, and reassembling a small engine applying the theory learned. Safety, tools, measuring, and the other skills learned in the 1st semester will be required to be successful in all future semesters of Auto. Approximately 60% of the time will be spent in the classroom and 40% spent in the shop.
