Dr. Umed Qadir Muhammad Ameen

My name is Umed Qadir Muhammad Ameen and I am a lecturer holding PhD degree in Translation Studies and teaching at the College of Languages at the University of Sulaimani in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq.

Currently I am teaching the following modules at the Department of Translation:

1. Translation as Profession

2. Translation Theory

My research interests focus on the following topics:

1. Translation Studies, particularly media translation, political translation, news translation and journalistic translation.

2. Translation between English and Central Kurdish.

3. Discourse, ideology and translation.
