PSAT (Preliminary SAT) PSAT Student Website
PSAT 9:
The PSAT 9 tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10—in a way that makes sense for ninth graders. It measures what they’re already learning, shows them whether they’re on track for college, and lets them know where they need the most improvement. That means students have time to tackle these areas long before they take the SAT. All 9th grade students will take the PSAT 9 in the Spring. There is no cost for this exam.
PSAT 10:
The PSAT 10 is the sophomore version of the SAT. It gives students an extra practice before taking the PSAT/NMSQT as well as the SAT. All 10th grade students will take the PSAT 10 in the Spring. There is no cost for this exam.
PSAT/NMSQT:
Given in October every year, this is a practice for the SAT. Part of the PSAT is a scholarship competition for Juniors. Unity will cover the cost for all juniors during the 2021-22 school year.
SAT SAT Website
Beginning in 2016-17, all 11th grade students will take the SAT unless they take the alternate assessment. The SAT will satisfy the state’s requirement for a college and career readiness assessment. The State of Illinois will cover the cost of this exam. The SAT is accepted at all US colleges so there is no need for students to take both the SAT and ACT.
