MEd Professional Studies
Policies
Planning Forms
The M.Ed. planning forms are designed to assist in the planning and completion of your M.Ed./professional studies program. These forms are required to complete your degree. Work with your academic adviser to fill out your form, then send to your faculty adviser for approval. If you have questions about coursework, please contact your faculty adviser or your academic adviser.
Request a Registration Exception
Please use this online workflow form when requesting a change to your registration (e.g., add, drop, change your grade basis) after a deadline.
Final Project
The M.Ed. final project provides students with an opportunity to design and implement an independent project in the schools or field that utilizes/reflects ideas and concepts from courses taken in the M.Ed. program. See the requirements and examples of how to design and complete your final M.Ed. project.
Degree Completion
Step #1: Submit Program Plan Form to your faculty adviser for approval
Program Plan Forms can be found above for each degree and should be submitted in the first month of your last semester of coursework.
Submit all requests for transfer credit to your advisor as early as possible
Step #2: Complete the Application for Degree in MyU
Do this before the 1st of the month you wish to graduate
MyU>Academics tab>Degree Progress> Click on "Apply to Graduate" link
Important! Maintain continuous enrollment: If you've already completed your coursework and the term has ended, you'll need to register for GRAD 999 in order to keep your enrollment active as the University can only clear a degree in an active student status. Use GRAD 999 also if you plan to take a semester off. Please note that students can use a GRAD 999 registration up to two times.
Note: Directions on the Graduate School's website for M.Ed. degree completion refer to submitting a GPAS Planner however Curriculum and Instruction does not use that tool. The process outlined above is what you should refer to when planning to graduate.
