The genomics team will focus on creating genomic resources to assist in the development of diagnostic tools and make predictions for virulence across geographical regions. Information obtained under these objectives will be used by the breeding programs to construct resistance gene (R gene) cassettes or pyramids that may remain effective in the field for longer time periods.
