The group answers more than 7,000 questions each year!
MN Yard & Garden is the eXtension community comprised of a group University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners, and Extension educators Jackie Froemming and Julie Weisenhorn. At any one time, about 10 are actively answering questions through the Ask Extension online Q&A tool. Questions are answered year-round with the Minnesota growing season (April - September) being the busiest period.U of M Extension has played a long-time role in helping eXtension shape Ask Extension. Some of our volunteers have been Experts since the tool was brought online in 2007 - and some Master Gardeners actively answered questions back when online "bulletin boards" were new technology. Since then, Ask Extension has gone through a number of changes and evolved into the tool it is today. Our Extension faculty, staff, and Master Gardeners have been at the forefront of its evolution as contributors, testers, users, and - of course - experts!
