I am interested in advancing the field of gas chromatography, specifically the development of micro-scale instrumentation. All aspects of the design, fabrication, and implementation of µGC systems are very interesting to me, however I tend to focus on the chromatography aspect of the field, since this is where most of my experience and training lies. From comprehensive two dimensional μGC to wearable VOC monitors utilizing μGC there are many directions in which this research can go and many opportunities to advance the science behind the instrumentation.

When I am not in the lab, I am most likely at the gym, playing softball with my former coworkers, or bowling with my team. In the winter I enjoy watching movies of all kinds, no matter how terrible a film is I can’t stop watching it. I also enjoy working on cars, be it my daily driver, a silver Saturn ion with the license plate “PLUS1”, my 1995 Pontiac Firebird convertible or my Father’s 1951 Jaguar.
