Rolling application deadline for the NEW Graduate Certificate in Healthy Cities

Applications are now being accepted for Rackham’s Graduate Certificate program in HealthyCities.

This new certificate program in Healthy Cities provides University of Michigan graduate students with the skills, knowledge, and competencies to engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations to promote human health in urban contexts. They will learn how the socioeconomic functioning of land use, infrastructure, and built environments contribute to health and wellness, using mixed-method designs. Students will also learn how to use many public policy levers to systematically affect change by organizing stakeholders, developing agendas, and mobilizing resources relevant to a range of urban health topics.

Graduate students in public health, public policy, and architecture/city planning can enhance their primary areas of study with limited additional coursework. Participants will receive advising on how to integrate certificate requirements into existing programs of study.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until May 1, 2017. Applications from all current graduate programs are encouraged. More information on curriculum offerings and application instructions is available online at the Graduate Certificate in Healthy Cities website. Prospective applicants should email the program’s faculty director with further inquiries (kkinder@umich.edu).
