Symposia Series

Since 2003, our semi-annual symposia series highlights current infectious disease topics selecting speakers who represent a range of disciplines and perspectives. Students, faculty, and guest speakers from around the world gather for intimate workshops on the first day and then the public is invited to join them for the main event on the second day. Topics are selected jointly by U of M students and faculty (usually in April or May).

Symposium associated activities include multiple formal and informal events such as meals, individual meetings, and workshops. Students participate in the selection and hosting of speakers; they have a student-only lunch with the speakers and introduce them at the main event.
