Symposia Series

October 4, 2019 (in M1020, SPHII) "Diversity and ecology of virus in human health and the environment"
March 20, 2020 (in honor of Carl Marrs at the Rackham Assembly Hall)
Since 2003, our semi-annual symposia series highlights current infectious disease topics selecting speakers who represent a range of disciplines and perspectives. Students, faculty, and guest speakers from around the world gather for intimate workshops on the first day and then the public is invited to join them for the main event on the second. Topics are selected jointly by U of M students and faculty (usually during April-May).

Symposium associated activities include multiple formal and informal events such as meals, individual meetings, and workshops. Students participate in the selection and hosting of speakers and introduce speakers to the symposium audience.
