Teaching

University Teaching

At Kalamazoo College I have taught Calculus I and II, Calculus with Review, Linear Algebra and Discrete Mathematics. I use a inquiry-based approach to teaching mathematics and I have recently experimented with specification grading. I am a first implementer of Team-Based Inquiry Learning and I am co-authoring an Activity Book for Calculus I.

At the University of Michigan I have taught: Math for Future Elementary Teachers, Preparation for Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III.

In addition to being a primary instructor, I have also coordinated Preparation for Calculus and trained new instructors for this course.

Other Teaching

In Summer 2017, 2018, and 2019, I have been a Graduate Course Assistant for the Michigan Math and Science Scholars program. This is an enrichment program for high school students interested in math and science. I have taught the Graph Theory session with Doug Shaw.
