The ASPET Institutional Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Requirements:
Applicants must be a registered full time college or university student.
Applicants must have completed at least two terms and have maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Applicants must be able to devote 10 complete weeks full time to laboratory research.
Program Information:
The summer fellowship program runs a total of 10 weeks typically beginning the day after Memorial Day and ending the first week of August.
A summer stipend of $3,600 is provided to the individual.
Housing and travel assistance is not provided.
Participation in laboratory discussions and departmental seminars and educational functions is required.
Direct supervision is provided by a full time faculty member.
Sophomore and Junior students are given a greater preference over applicants who will be entering their Senior year or students who have already graduated.
Experience in labs, the desire to obtain a PhD in the basic sciences, completed course-work, a GPA of 3.0 and above, and the references received factor most heavily into the selection process.

All applicants must complete a brief application and submit a statement expressing their interest in this program, a current grade transcript, and three letters of reference from a high school teacher, faculty member, or employer.
