“To Preserve and Enhance”
Hi Neighbors, Spring time in Connemara Hills! May 24, 2017
Subdivision garage sale May 18-20 was a success! Neighbors made some extra bucks and gained storage area. News of our upcoming Summer Picnic-Party will be coming soon.
Home burglary attempt reported on Connemara Dr. Remember to keep your garage, cars and doors locked! Report suspicious persons to the police.
Multiple coyote sightings on Mayo this week in the wee hours of the morning.
We also have a family of foxes living on Byrne Court.
Holiday lawn debris pickup by Waste Mgt. will be Saturday June 3. (Rather than Friday June 2).
Summer preparations reminders: Have your air conditioner checked and serviced as necessary. (Some may need a freon recharge.) Be prepared to clean or replace sprinkler heads.
Sub homes for sale or recently sold (that we are aware of): 22356 Connemara Dr. (at 9 Mile) under contract for $259,000. 45046 Mayo Dr. under contract for $250,000.
Neighborly Suggestions: Thanks neighbors for the following reminders:
The Speed Limit is 25mph. Speeders put children, bikers and walkers at risk.
Solicitors are required to have a permit from the City of Novi.
Dog walkers: thanks for picking up after your pet.
Let’s all keep our lawns free of clutter and our homes well maintained.
CHHA Officers changes are on the horizon. President Bev Kingsbury, Treasurer Joan Bryson and myself Jud Kingsbury as Secretary, will not be running for their respective CHHA positions this Fall. We will help with transitions and are still interested in helping as Block Captains, etc. More to come on the recruitment of volunteers for these positions.
CHHA Reminders: When selling your home please inform the CHHA and let your Realtors know that the Deed Restrictions are attached to the property. The HOA Bylaws and Deed Restrictions are available in hard or soft copies and are posted on our website. Adding on a room or remodeling a kitchen? Planning outside construction like a built in pool or new deck, etc.? The CHHA Architectural Control Committee will need to approve the plans before a City of Novi permit can be pulled. This process helps to maintain standards for our beautiful sub. Sheds and fences (unless you have an in-ground pool) are prohibited.

Get your dog license before June 1
License can be purchased at Treasurer's Office or online thru Oakland County
Make sure you have your dog licensed before June 1 to avoid additional fees. State law requires all dogs age 4 months or older to have a license. Licensing is an important public safety issues as it ensures dogs in the community have current rabies vaccinations.
Residents can purchase a license at the Novi Treasurer's Office inside the Novi Civic Center or online at oakgov.com/petadoption. Until June 1, cost is $7.50 for a dog that has been spayed/neutered and $15 for a dog that has not been spayed/neutered. Senior citizens age 65 and up have a discounted rate of $6.75 and $13.50, respectively.
On June 2, Oakland County Animal Control Census Team workers will begin going door-to-door in various communities in an attempt to bring residents into compliance with State law. Cost to purchase a license after June 1 is $30.
A current, valid dog license also is needed to use the Novi Dog Park. You can fill out the membership application for the park at cityofnovi.org.
Honor our vets on Memorial Day
Mayor will be remembering Novi HS graduate, Air Force Major Andrew Becker
Memorial Day is a day to honor those who gave their lives for our freedom, as well as those who have served or are currently serving.
Novi takes a great deal of pride in its Memorial Day event, which starts with the annual Memorial Day Run, followed by the parade and memorial service.
The parade starts at 10am, Monday, May 29, starting at Karim Boulevard and heading down 10 Mile to the Novi Civic Center. Immediately following the parade, we honor all veterans, both living and deceased, with a fitting tribute. This years’ service includes a wreath laying, gun salute, patriotic songs and guest speaker Col. Craig Stigleman.
Mayor Bob Gatt will also offer a few words remembering Novi High School graduate and Air Force pilot Major Andrew Becker who died during a training exercise in March.
For more information about the Memorial Day offerings or to be part of the parade, visit cityofnovi.org or call 248.347.0414.
