Bruno Caetano Trindade, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Bruno is interested in the gut immunology. After earning his PhD in immunology at University of Sao Paulo, he worked in the laboratory of David Aronoff at University of Michigan and later on at Vanderbilt University. At that time, he investigated how lipid mediators regulate immune and inflammatory responses during Clostridium difficile infection. In 2017, he worked for two years with Andrea Reboldi at University of Massachusetts, where he studied how cholesterol metabolites shape IgA response in the gut. Back to the University of Michigan, Bruno joined our lab, and he is examining the importance of IgA in NLRP6-dependent regulation of the gut microbiome and homeostasis. He is also interested in investigating the importance of NLRP6 function in neutrophils to limit colitis. Bruno enjoys spending time with family, gardening, mountain biking, hiking, and love to watch TV shows for food-and-cooking around the world. His biggest adventure so far has been backpacking in South America.
