There are several ways to get from Edmonton International Airport (YEG) to Lister Centre
Take the Skyshuttle. This is a privately operated shuttle, servicing major hotels in the university and downtown area, and in particular Lister Hall. The one way fare is $18 ($30 for round trip). The check-in desk area at the Edmonton International Airport is located near Door 7 on the Arrivals Level. Note that you must pre-book any travel to the aiport by phone or online (but not from the airport). Travel times vary, but you should allow for at least 45 minutes. Please make sure to obtain a receipt for your expenses.
Take a taxi. Fares vary, but should be around $60 one way plus tip. Travel time is around 30 - 40 minutes depending on traffic. Please make sure you obtain a receipt for your expenses.
Take public transit. The 747 bus line runs hourly (half-hourly during peak times) for most of the day in either direction, connecting YEG to the southern most LRT station (Century Park). Click here for its schedule. Once at Century Park, take the LRT to the Health Sciences station and then walk north to 87 Avenue and two blocks West. You can find a local map here.
One way fares on the 747 are $5 (must be paid in cash or with two bus tickets, no change), plus currently $3.25 for the LRT ticket (which must be purchased with cash at ticketing machines at Century Park, which accept bills up to $20 and provide change). This is a cheap and viable option if you don't have a lot of luggage to carry around. Travel times vary, but it takes approximately 30 minutes to Century Park, and about 20 minutes from there to the Health Sciences LRT station. Depending on the time of day, LRT trains at Century Park run on a 7 to 15 minutes schedule. Please see takeets.com for details.
Unfortunately, we won't be able to reimburse you for the local transit option.
For Red Arrow, you should get off at their downtown location (Holiday Inn Express Plaza, 10014 - 104th Street), walk two blocks north to Jasper Avenue, and take the LRT at Bay / Enterprise Square Station (in the direction of Century Park).
If you arrive by Greyhound, the South Depot located on 5723 104 St is closer to the university than the Greyhound Main Depot in the north of the city (12360 121 St). Once you arrive their, you will have to take public transportation to get to the university's North Campus. You can use the Edmonton Transit Service Trip Planner to find the best option.
Of course, the easiest way the get there is to use any navigation enabled mapping system on your phone.
To locate it on Google maps, follow the link on their location page.
If you bring a car, Lister Centre will provide parking. Please inform them at check-in. It should be added to your room bill charged to us.
All lectures will be held in a classroom in Cameron Library. (More precise information later.)
It is a leisurely walk of about 10-15 minutes from the Lister Centre.
You will find both the Lister Centre and Cameron Library on the UAlberta map here.
Cameron Library (CL) is located just east of the Central Academic Building (CAB), which is itself located on the east side of the Main Quad, the green area in the middle of the campus. Follow the above link and enter "Cameron Library" into the search field. It will show you its location and it also offers the option to give you walking directions from Lister Hall. (Click on Cameron Library (CL) and select "directions", then enter Lister Centre as the origin.)
The Department is located in the Central Academic Building (CAB), on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors. The class will meet in Cameron Library, so there may not be a specific need to go to the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences.
