Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative - The Alabama Department of Education's initiative to improve STEM teaching throughout the state.
Alabama Science in Motion - The goals of Science in Motion are to provide high-tech laboratory experiences for students and effective professional development for teachers throughout Alabama. Each region is supported by different institutions, including UAH.
Alabama Science Olympiad - The state wide program includes all grade levels. UAH hosts the North Alabama middle and high school regional competition.
Engineering is Elementary - Curricula and professional development for improving engineering literacy for educators and children.
FIRST in Alabama - Regional robotics competitions and other events for ages 6 to 18.
Future City Competition - The Alabama Region's activities for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Other regions can be found here.
GenCyber Camp - GenCyber organizes free cybersecurity camps for K-12 teachers and students all over the country. UAH conducted a GenCyber Camp last year for local high school teachers.
HudsonAlpha Education - The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology operates several programs for middle and high school students, teachers, and the community, including hands-on classroom modules, digital learning, materials, camps and school experiences. UAH is involved with their APPLE program.
Network of STEM Education Centers, list of Center Profiles - This comprehensive list of STEM centers across the US can be filtered by grade ranges or searched.
RE-SEED - UAH Institute for Science Education (ISEd) organizes the RE-SEED program, where retired STEM professionals to engage in science and engineering outreach with middle school students.
UAH College of Science Outreach - The College of Science hosts science, chemistry, and gaming competitions, visits high schools, attends career fairs, and engages in other forms of outreach.
