Research Interests
Mathematical Biology: I'm studying problems arising from theoretical biology (metapopulations, total effects in trophic networks) and bioprocesses which are described by nonautonomous differential and difference equations. In this context, I have been collaborating with Daniel Sepúlveda, Pablo Amster and Rodrigo Ramos Jiliberto.
Non autonomous Dynamical Systems: with Alvaro Castañeda, we have been working in the study of the property of dichotomy for linear non autonomous systems, we have obtained some results about topological conjugacy and the spectra associated to the dichotomy.
Linear Control Theory: with Ignacio Huerta and Pablo Monzón we started to study the controllability properties for linear non autonomous systems beyond de classical Kalman's properties
My Ph.D thesis (see also here) was devoted to the mathematical modeling of the competitive exclusion in a special type of bioreactor (the chemostat) and the introduction of feedback control laws in order to avoid the exclusion and promote the coexistence of two species. I worked under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Luc Gouzé (see also here).
