Bio: Elyce Enrique is in her first year of teaching, and she currently serves as the assistant band director at Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools. She teaches band for grades 5 through 8, a 6th grade general music class, and assists the high school bands.
Ms. Enrique is an alum of Hoover High School and the University of Akron, graduating summa cum laude in 2020 and 2024, respectively. She holds bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Woodwinds Performance with a minor in music composition, earning honors distinction and Presser Scholar status at the University of Akron. After graduation, Ms. Enrique served as the long-term substitute teacher for the band director at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts. There, she taught band for grades 4 through 8, jazz band, music theory, and an exploratory course.
As an active performer, Ms. Enrique is a member of several groups in Northeast Ohio, including the Supertonics Flute Ensemble, University of Akron Community Trombone Choir, and the Dominic Greco Band. She has played flute and piccolo in the pit orchestras at Hoover High School and Coventry High School for their musical productions. In addition, Ms. Enrique serves as a vocalist on the worship team at her church.
Ms. Enrique is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the Ohio Music Education Association.
