Bio: Stephen Tripp is currently in his tenth year of teaching and his seventh as middle school band director at Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools. He teaches band for grades five through eight, middle school jazz band, and assists with the high school band program.

Mr. Tripp graduated from Claymont High School in 2007 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Akron in 2012. He began his teaching career in 2014 as the director of bands and choirs at Garaway Local Schools in Sugarcreek, Ohio. His responsibilities at Garaway included directing the concert band and choir programs at the high school and middle school, as well as the marching band, pep band, jazz band, and show choir. 

In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Tripp is an active musician and live sound technician. He has performed as a solo acoustic artist, as a guitarist/vocalist in a variety of bands, and served as worship leader at Park Christian Church in Dennison, Ohio from 2010 to 2014. Stephen has also played in the pit orchestra for a number of high school musical productions, and performs regularly with the Dominic Greco Community Band.

His professional affiliations include The National Association for Music Education and the Ohio Music Education Association.
