Friends of the THS Library

In order to promote leisure reading and to teach effective research skill in the fast-paced, information rich society, the Chester Woodward Library began a Friends of the Topeka High School Library organization in 2001.  Many caring individuals have joined the organization and have helped to maintain the educational integrity of the collection and the concept of a library as a whole.
The Vision:
To encourage gifts, endowments, bequests and memorials to the Topeka High Library
To build support in the community for the Topeka High Library
To enhance the image, materials, services and facilities of the Topeka High Library by undertaking specific projects on its behalf
To maintain an association of individuals, civic organizations, business and other groups interested in the Topeka High
Projects:
Refinishing 100+ chairs
Refinishing 6 tables
Adding lighting to the Biography room
Installing the lettering for the Chester Woodward Library
Providing funding for attendance at two library conferences a year
Providing funding of $500 towards the purchase of new books
