Project Title:

Molecular marker assisted selection and identifying molecular markers associated with resistance to MYMV in mungbean.

Objectives:

1. Molecular tagging of MYMV resistant gene.
2. Development of Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek, specific SSR markers and its validation.
3. Poteomic and transcriptomic analysis to understand the mechanism of YMV resistance.

Progress:

• Two SCAR markers developed with RAPD and ISSR polymorphic fragments
• VGGRU1, a MYMV resistant genotype was identified
• Proteomics analysis identified differentially expressed proteins involved in biotic stress, defence mechanisms and signal transduction.
