Renewables are green, resilient, and sustainable energy sources. India has a greater potential in most of the forms of renewable resources viz., solar, wind, and biomass. Department of Renewable Energy Engineering involves in technology development for the effective harnessing of renewable energy and its utilization mainly in the agricultural sector. Our research areas are focused on the generation of energy as well as chemical and bioproducts from biological resources.

The undergraduate (B.Tech. (Energy and Environmental Engineering)) and postgraduate (M.Tech. and Doctoral) programmes; funded International & National research projects and outreach programmes for technology dissemination are the puissance of the department. This Department has recorded a consistent improvement in its academic, research, and placement performance. It offers innovatively designed curricula updated to meet the changing requirement of the industry and to meet the needs of major stakeholders. We believe that our students have been well accepted in their job profiles and have consistently exceeded expectations of the corporate world. The curriculum includes internships and projects that enable them to understand the relevance of working in a group and also help them to realize the finer aspects and importance of teamwork.

The department's success story has chapters on Alumni at various global and national organizations, deeper penetration of developed technologies in promising areas, and structured extension activities.
