SWISD’s Pre-k - 12th grade STEM objective is to encourage students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through expanded project-based learning opportunities, hands-on laboratory and coursework, student focused curricula, and exposure to industry and higher educational related programs in order to provide opportunities for our students to become leaders in tomorrow’s world.
All Elementary campuses have incorporated a rotation during the instructional day for pre-k - 5th students to learn the fundamental aspects of STEM through collaboration.
We strive to take students places where they can make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and see it in action in the real world
All Elementary schools provide opportunities for students to enrich what they learn in after-school club practices and competitions in a variety of STEM fields
