Self-regulation skills , including self-control, help us reach our goals, learn in school/outside of school, and getting a long with others.
These skills will help us throughout our life at any age and during these stressful times can be useful for everyone in the family.
As parents it is OK to take a break and walk away, do something else, self-care or have the kids take a break from us!!
If things are getting difficult have fun as a family, take a break, take a walk, play a game, have a snack or make something
craft or baking!! For children in elementary school it is good for them to know how he or she is feeling and understand how his
or her body feels inside and what shows on the outside. Once they understand this they can use the skills to calm down and
problem solve or continue on with what they were working on or doing.
Following are videos and activities that are fun do help us with these skills and there are Coping strategies listed on left margin.
