Math Google Classroom:  


Fifth grade math has a strong emphasis on computation, problem solving, and mathematical reasoning.  We will begin this school year by establishing the procedures and routines of the fifth grade math classroom.  Curriculum will be based in the Amplify Math program.  The start of the year begins with an updated iReady diagnostic for all students.  In addition to specific math skills, students will regularly use mathematical processes such as problem solving, communication, reasoning and proof, representation, connections, and perseverance.  Students have a variety of resources available to them, including their text book, math notebooks, iReady, and Google Classroom.  The math notebook as a resource is greatly emphasized in fifth grade.  The students will be taking notes during class instruction that they will rely on to complete work both inside and outside of the math classroom.  The students should be using their notebooks regularly to assist with work as well as preparation for assessments.
