6th Grade Band Overview
Here are just a few of the accomplishments your student will be able to achieve in 6th grade band!

August-October: Students begin with small group lessons (once every four days), and group band rehearsals (every other day), both of which occur during the school day. Students work out of lesson books and other materials, improving on the new skills they are learning in band.

November-December: Students apply the skills they are learning to prepare music for the Winter Concerts at each of the elementary schools.

January-March: Students are given solos to prepare for our annual District Solo Festival. Students are given instruction during their lessons on these solos. The bands also rehearse music in group band rehearsals for their upcoming spring performances (Spring Programs, District Band Night, etc.)

April-May: Students continue preparing for spring performances, and put on multiple concerts. Students finish the year honing their skills that will continue their success in band at the junior high level.
