Parish Committees

The Bereavement Committee is a dedicated group of parishioners who provide compassionate support and assistance to families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Their goal is to help make the funeral and celebration of life a meaningful and prayerful experience while caring for the many details that can be overwhelming for a grieving family.

The committee works closely with the family of the deceased to help plan the funeral liturgy, coordinate readings, music, and other elements of the Mass, and ensure that the family’s wishes are honored. 

The committee also assists with funeral gatherings and receptions by preparing and arranging the space, setting up tables and refreshments, serving food, and welcoming family and friends. After the gathering, they help with cleanup and tear-down, allowing the family to spend their time with loved ones rather than worrying about the many practical details.

Through their generosity, compassion, and willingness to serve, the Bereavement Committee helps create a warm and welcoming environment for families and visitors while providing a comforting presence during a time of loss.

The Right to Life Committee is dedicated to promoting the dignity and sanctity of human life through prayer, service, education, and community involvement. Throughout the year, committee members participate in a variety of pro-life activities, including the March for Life in Washington, D.C., NKY Right to Life, and 40 Days for Life.

The committee also works to support mothers, babies, and families in need. Members participate in the CareNet Baby Bottle Collection and Walking with Moms in Need, providing practical support and resources to families facing difficult circumstances.

Most recently, the committee raised funds for a Baby Box in Central Campbell County at a local firehouse, helping provide a safe resource for mothers and babies in our community.

Through prayer, compassion, and service, the Right to Life Committee strives to build a culture that respects and supports every human life. This group meets every Monday.

The Prayer Shawl Committee is a ministry of compassion, prayer, and service dedicated to providing comfort to those in need. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month to create handmade prayer shawls and lap afghans for individuals who are sick, homebound, grieving, or experiencing difficult times.

Each item is lovingly crafted with prayer and care, serving as a tangible reminder of God's presence and the support of our parish community. In addition to prayer shawls and lap afghans, the committee has recently expanded its outreach by making scarves for Others First and hats for cancer patients, bringing warmth, comfort, and encouragement to those facing challenges.

Through their time, talent, and dedication, members of the Prayer Shawl Committee share Christ's love with others, one stitch at a time.

Committee Chair: Theresa Frilling

The Altar Society plays an important role in supporting the beauty and reverence of our church and the celebration of Mass. The committee meets every other month and works throughout the year to help provide the items and decorations that enhance our worship.

The Altar Society helps fund the bread and wine used during Mass, as well as altar cloths, priest and server vestments and flowers for Christmas, Easter and other occasions.  The members also spring clean the entire church from the very top of the altar background, the sanctuary, statues, pews, and choir.  These contributions help ensure that our church is beautifully prepared for both our regular celebrations and special liturgical seasons.  

To support these efforts, the committee organizes a large annual raffle in the late fall.  They also sponsor the memorial ribbons at Christmas and Easter. These events provide the funds needed for these important ministries.

Through their generosity and dedication, the Altar Society helps care for our church and supports the celebration of the Eucharist throughout the year.

The Worship Committee helps plan and prepare many of the special liturgies and celebrations throughout the year, working behind the scenes to ensure that our parish worship experiences are prayerful, welcoming, and meaningful.

The committee assists with the planning and setup for Christmas, Easter Vigil, and Holy Day liturgies, as well as many other special Masses and parish celebrations. They help coordinate and prepare for events such as the Firefighters Mass, Blessing of Fathers, Mother’s Day, Candlelight Vigils, Anointing Masses, and other special occasions throughout the year. They also provide hospitality by organizing donuts and coffee following the Labor Day and Thanksgiving Masses. Each month the committee heads a community outreach called Others First.  Through this initiative, an individual Worship Member takes responsibility for obtaining a list of needed items from a local organization and handles the delivery of those items. This program helps bring Christ to the wider community. 

Whether preparing the church, coordinating the details of a special liturgy, or helping create a welcoming atmosphere for parishioners, the Worship Committee plays an important role in bringing our parish celebrations to life.
