Art Rockets Summer Camp MAY 27-30
Art Rockets (painting lessons) can begin as early as Tuesday and Thursday next week! I am now accepting applications for students in 3rd-8th grade to join the the Advanced group on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45 PM and students in Kinder-2nd grade for Kinder Rockets on Thursdays from 3:30-4:45 PM. Please take a look at the calendar and tuition schedule below for details.
Hello parents!
Art Rockets, my private business, has been operating out of my classroom for 7 years. I offer small group painting lessons to students of STM, meeting once a week on either Tuesdays or Thursdays. This flexible schedule is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of our students. We use nontoxic acrylic paints on canvas. This year, in response to student and parent requests, I am happy to now offer a multi-media curriculum. I will continue to offer acrylic painting, while adding collagraph printmaking, sculpture, and modeling clay projects as well.

1. Please pack a change of clothes for your students (shorts, t-shirt) or an XL shirt to throw over uniforms.
Acrylic paint is not washable.
If the accident is big enough, it can bleed through the painting smock.
They will change in the bathroom before class and are welcome to leave the clothes in their supply box.
2. Send your student with an extra snack to eat before class.
Snacks are eaten between 3:30 dismissal and 3:45 when class starts.
Something small, not a second lunch. ;)
Similar to Homeroom, students will have an assigned space and a privacy board.
Students will sanitize before and after the quick snack.
3. Supply boxes will arrive in time or next week's class.
Returning Rockets should bring the box tomorrow so that I can inventory and order any missing supplies.
Supply refills will be billed separately.
Once on campus, the supply boxes will live on a shelf in the room and return home in March.
4. Pick up begins promptly at 4:30 in the front office.
I will be supervising pickup until every child is retrieved.
I appreciate your promptness, as I have school responsibilities to handle after class.
If 4:30 PM ever becomes problematic, I can recommend after-care services for your convenience.
5. Lastly, this is a beginner acrylic painting course.
Students will follow the same classroom rules and procedures with higher expectations.
I will reach out if disruptive behavior becomes repetitive.
Please echo these expectations to your students before school tomorrow so that they hear them from home and class.
I'm thrilled to begin! First, we will practice observational drawing with charcoal. It is a prerequisite to painting on canvas, and research shows that drawing helps people perceive the world more accurately, remember facts better, and understand their world from a new perspective.
