Our Learner Goals

Reading: Students will practice determining theme, analyzing characters, identifying figurative language in fiction and myths such as idioms, allusions, adages, personification, similes, alliteration, etc.

Spelling/Phonics; The students will apply decoding strategies to read unfamiliar words with "trans, sub, and -rupt"  spelling patterns. See the following link for practicing spelling words using technology

Language Arts; Writing/Grammar/Speaking & Listening:. Writing; develop our informative writing skills Grammar; focus on identifying and using various types of figurative language Speaking and Listening; develop speaking and listening skills during small group discussions. 

Math: Geometry; The students will use strategies to identify geometry terms

Religion: The students will develop their understanding of the Beatitudes and Works of Mercy, participate in the safeguarding lessons of the Archdiocese,  reflect on the homily's faith message, and engage in the Liturgy. 

Science: The students will demonstrate understanding of Physical Science concepts; collisions, brain processes, information transfer

Social Studies: The students will learn about how an economy works

Technology: The students will continue improving keyboarding fluency, create a Google Slides presentation for Parade of States research, and use IXL and Read Theory to support and enrich mastery of math and language arts standards
