Entering Missing Grades in FACTS

It is a good practice to use the missing grade code "M" when entering individual assignment grades after the due date. By doing this:

  1. It serves as a reminder to students and parents that the grade is actually missing when viewing grades in FACTS

  2. It acts like a ZERO in the gradebook so that students and parents can see how it would affect their overall grade if it were actually a zero.

  3. Assignments with an M will trigger a Missing Grade report that will be sent out to parents on a daily basis.

It also is a good idea to add context to the missing grade by entering a note in the Notes field. See below.
