Why Learn Grammar?
Grammar Defined is "the study of the way sentences are constructed in a language."
Sometimes when we hear the word “grammar" we roll our eyes and think it is too hard and give up before giving it a chance.
Don't give up! Our grammar studies will go beyond diagramming sentences or memorizing terms and rules.
We will study grammar using a variety of techniques – interactive notebooks, task cards, class discussion, Kahoot, Quizlet, and more.
My goal is for grammar to improve student writing and speaking. I want our students to understand the language they are using and internalize new words to be used in their daily vernacular.
Students will see grammar in action – through the literature they read and the words that they speak, and maybe even move beyond texting abbreviations...well maybe...
