The Rosary begins with the Apostles' Creed.

  • The Creed tells us what we believe about our faith.

There are 5 decades of each mystery.

  • A decade of the Rosary is 1 Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, and 1 Glory Be.

We keep the consecrated Hosts in the Tabernacle.

  • We call this the Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus is always present in the Blessed Sacrament, except Good Friday

Easter Study Guide:

Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. This is called the Resurrection.

He appeared to many people after He rose from the dead.

Two disciples that were traveling to Emmaus on Easter Sunday recognized Him when he blessed and broke the bread.

He appeared to Mary Magdalene early in the morning at the tomb.

He appeared to the Apostles in the locked room.

Thomas did not believe that Jesus had risen because he wanted to touch His wounds.

Paschal Candle/ Easter Candle (look at picture at bottom of page)

The Easter Candle is lit at the Easter Vigil (the Mass at night before Easter Sunday)

The Easter Candle pictured here is not exactly like ours.

Our Candle has the alpha (A) and the Omega (symbol under the cross). They are Greek letters. They represent that God is the beginning and the end.

It has the year -usually around the cross.

This year it would say 2020.

There are crowns above the cross and fish below (Not on this one). Fish stand for the waters of Baptism. On our candle there would be 5 red pins on the cross. They represent the 5 wounds of Christ.

Forty (40) days after Easter Sunday, Jesus went back to Heaven, This is called the Ascension.

Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He told the Apostles to go out and teach people about God. He promised to send the Holy Spirit to help them.

On Pentecost (50 days after Easter), the Holy Spirit came to the Apostles and disciples as they were still in hiding. The Spirit helped people to understand what the Apostles were saying in their own languages. It was a miracle that helped them build the Church.
