REMINDERS
REMINDER: Your student's name should be on EVERY PIECE of clothing that may come off during the day - sweatshirts, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, etc.
Student names should be on EVERY school supply as well. So many things are lost or not returned to the rightful owner because no names are on items. Thank you for your help with this!
Please help your child get all belongings for the next school day organized and ready in the evening before bedtime. Most children at this age still need support from parents in laying out the proper clothing and shoes, packing lunches and snacks, washing and replenishing water bottles, and repacking backpacks after homework.
Please be sure your child is eating breakfast in the morning. We have an early lunch time this year, and will not eat a working snack until the afternoon. Remember that a working snack is eaten during class time while books and papers are often on our desks. Therefore, please send dry foods that are not messy: no Cheetohs, chips, flavor blasted Goldfish crackers, or fruits. No candy. While fruits are a healthy, excellent snack, please save them for lunches. Good options for a working snack are Goldfish crackers (not flavor-blasted), pretzels, dry cereal in a baggie, granola/cereal bars, etc. Thank you for your understanding.
Please try to get into the habit of signing all papers with scores on them as they come home in your child's folder, even if there is no "parent signature" stamp on the paper. It is important to me that I know you have seen all graded/scored work as it comes home throughout the trimester.
Sometimes, Mrs. Boschert or I will use planning period time to score papers and add scores to Powerschool. Once you see something has been added to Powerschool, please look for that paper in your child's folder within a day or two. Please make sure you have read and gone over errors with your child at home. If you have questions for me or Mrs. Boschert, kindly write a quick email or add a short note to the scored assignment (when it is returned with your signature) after you have reviewed the work with your child.
