Testing

We recommend that all students take the ACT or SAT at the END of their Junior year in high school and again at the BEGINNING of their senior year. This will allow for updated scores to be sent with college applications in October of each year.

NOTE TO JUNIORS: Spring ISD usually offers a school day SAT free of charge to all juniors during the month of March. We will announce any upcoming testing information as we receive it. YOU MAY STUDY USING YOUR ONLINE COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT AND ITS SAT STUDY GUIDE. BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE LINKED YOUR COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT TO THE ONLINE STUDY GUIDE, KHAN ACADEMY ( WWW.KHANACADEMY.ORG ). YOU MAY ALSO ACCESS YOUR NAVIANCE ACCOUNT AND USE THE KAPLAN SAT STUDY GUIDE.

Although most colleges and universities accept either of the exams, students should be sure to visit their school of choice's website for updated testing information. Some schools have waived testing requirements. Students should also choose the exam best for them if one is required. Please see the SAT or ACT comparison document attached below.

Juniors should take the exams in May. Seniors should complete the exams again in October.

All test registration is completed online. No paper forms are available. Payment must be made with a debit card, credit card or fee waiver.

A student must have their admission ticket on test day. There are no exceptions to this rule.

These four items must be an EXACT match on test day:

1. Admission ticket information (name, birth date, photo)

2. Photo ID presented (driver's license or ID card/name and information)

3. Test center roster information (name, birth date)

4. You, the tester!
