Format for a Research Brief

Each Roman Numeral represents a section/page of the research paper.

I. The cover page is first.

A. The title of class is listed first.

B. The title of the article or paper is second.

C. Your name is third.

D. The instructors' name is fourth.

E. The date the paper is due is listed last.

II. The thesis statement and outline page are the second in order.

A. A thesis statement sits atop the outline page.

B. A formal, complete sentence outline follows.

III. A five-paragraph article summary must include references.

IV. The bibliography falls last.
