Characteristics of the Nazi Ideology

-Nationalism: the unique cultural identity of a people based on common language, religion, and national symbols.

-Fascism: a philosophy that glorifies the state above the individual by emphasizing the need for a strong central government led by a dictatorial ruler.

-Totalitarian State: a government that aims to control the political, economic, social, intellectual, and cultural lives of its citizens.

-Third Reich: Nazi Regime beginning in 1933. Based on Nazi view of "Aryan" genetic and cultural superiority. 

-Social Darwinism: Darwin’s theory of natural selection applied to modern human societies. Social progress comes from the “survival of the fittest.” This idea was applied to nations.
