RS Extended Paragraph Standards 

These are general expectations for an extended paragraph response.
 

10/10 points

-Displays extended thought, deep analysis, and intellectual rigor in answering the prompt.

-Reflects independent thought, creativity, and/or strong insight. 

-Clearly organized: clear thesis supported by specific arguments, details, and references.

-Transitions are used to link ideas.

-Language is concise and uses university-level vocabulary.

-Displays mastery of key concepts and ideas.

-Reflects a broad understanding of the complexity of ideas germane to the topic or subject.

-Concluding sentences provide or reinforce key insights without being repetitious.

-Grammar, punctuation, and spelling are excellent and reflect university-level writing.
