SMS Physical Education Grading Policy

Grades Will Be Posted to Genesis at the Start of Each Marking Period:

Each Student Will Begin the Marking Period with a 100 Point Grade

 - Students Will Be Graded Daily on a 5-Point Scale

 - Points are Deducted From a Student’s Grade Based on the Following Criteria.

- Being on Time to Class and In Squad/On Tine for Attendance

- Being Prepared: PE attire including sneakers (No Uggs, Crocks, Slides or Sandals)

- Participation & Effort: Shows effort and participation of the activity for the entire period and providing/submitting reflection forms.

- Skill Level & Game Comprehension: Shows an understanding of rules, strategies, and skills necessary for game play of Fitness Concepts

- Sportsmanship, Following Rules & Proper use of Equipment

Point System:

- No Participation and Unprepared 

- Partial Performance During the Entire Period

-Improper use of equipment / Poor Sportsmanship 

- Proficient Performance for the Entire Period (Full Credit No Point Deducted)
