Following an extensive review, the LMS Review Task Force recommended switching from Moodlerooms, our existing host, to eThink. The primary reasons for this shift included:
- No storage limit for course files—storage is limited at Moodlerooms, requiring us to archive courses
- Flexible upgrade scheduling—Moodlerooms mandates twice yearly upgrades on their schedule, not ours
- Increased functionality—eThink is happy to enable additional features that allow us to expand Moodle's usefulness (see the New Features in 3.3 chapter in Moodle)
- Real-time Banner integration—course and enrollment data will be passed to Moodle immediately from Banner instead of only twice a day
- Improved customer service—eThink prides itself on providing excellent service to clients and has proven to be extremely responsive to our needs through the transition process
- Cost savings, as only active users are counted—we currently pay for recent graduates, based on how Moodlerooms defines users
