Mr. and Ms. Ebanks
The Caymanian husband has skillfully navigated the island’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. His fascination with computers sparked early entrepreneurial efforts, which saw varied successes and helped him build a strong foundation in tech. Over time, Daniel became an integral part of a local business, where he also developed a keen appreciation for art in its many forms, especially music.
Today, Daniel is a source of inspiration and problem-solving in the Cayman Islands. Always attuned to new challenges and opportunities, he is committed to positively impacting his community and supporting creative and innovative solutions to improve life on the island.
The wife, a Caymanian by heart, arrived in the Cayman Islands in 2002 with a degree in Education. While her career initially leaned towards the financial industry, her true passion for Caymanian arts and crafts blossomed with the encouragement of her sister, Soraida, and her husband, Daniel. She began creating knitted handbags and purses, exploring painting, and designing Christmas ornaments, each piece reflecting her love for creativity.
Inspired by the unique beauty of Caymanite, Alina incorporated her postcards with jewelry made from this rare, local stone, all sourced by her close friend of over 20 years, Jose Inga. This artistic venture led to Casa de Soto Ltd., a store dedicated to showcasing Cayman’s natural resources through exquisite jewelry and crafts. Although the store closed following COVID-19, Casa de Soto has continued to thrive by supplying jewelry and sculptures crafted from locally sourced Caymanite, Queen Conch, and Whelk.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Alina remains committed to her roots in education. She actively participates in various mentoring programs, including Mentoring Cayman and the Junior Achievement program, and she inspires and guides young people in the community. Let’s inspire each other!
