5th Grade Choir

The 5th Grade choir is a non-auditioned choir which meets Tuesdays, Thursdays  and every other Friday for 35-minute rehearsals. Students particpate in music games and activities aimed to develop sight reading and ear training skills and apply musical knowledge in reading choral scores. Students will study musical genres, cultural and historical information as well as composers as related to musical selections. Students will develop a working musical vocabulary, sing settings of harmony and develop/practice healthy vocal production and begin to develop self-reflection strategies. Students will perform in 3 evening concerts throughout the school year.  They are scheduled one per trimester.  Students who are in choir also participate in small group voice lessons which take place everyother week during Target Time.
