6th Grade Choir

The 6th Grade Choir is a non-auditioned class that rehearses Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday for 35 min. during Foundations time. This offering is available to all students. During Choir students receive training in solfege, rhythm studies, historical context of their pieces and composer studies.  Typically, the 6th Gr. Choir will study at least one song in a foreign language. Students learn music vocabulary throughout the year and apply that knowledge as they self-reflect on their skills and growth as vocal musicians. 

There are 3 evening concerts throughout the year. They are scheduled one per trimester.  Students who are in choir also participate in small group voice lessons which take place everyother week during Target Time.
