Information for Enrolled IDRP Scholars
Constitution of Doctoral Committee (DC) for PhD /General Test Committee (GTC) for MS
DC:
One DC member each from respective departments of guides.
3rd DC member from a department other than that of the two guides.
GTC:
One member from Host department and other members from any other department.
Coursework
The DC/GTC of the scholar will decide the course requirement.
Zeroth DC/GTC meeting: Physical meeting to decide the course work.
ID6020 (Introduction to Research) is a compulsory course. For ID6021, contact your respective Host departments.
IDRP student can take any course in the institute in consultation with DC/GTC.
Course work cannot be waived
Comprehensive Examination
Follow the guidelines of the parent/host department
IDRP scholars need to participate in both written and oral exam as per the institute norms
The DC in consultation with the scholar will decide the syllabus/paper for both the written and oral exams based on the scholar background and research problem (These may be identical to that of a regular scholar)
The weightage for oral and written exam should also be in accordance with the parent department
Under any circumstance, comprehensive examination will not be waived
TA Responsibilities
8 hours per week as per MHRD Guidelines
Typically in the host department
Indicate your preference to the Host Department through your guide/ID coordinator of your Department
TA Orientation – attendance mandatory
Placement Opportunities
IDRP scholars can attend placements in both primary and secondary departments.
