MEET THE COUNSELORs

My name is Bailee Duren and I am the High School counselor. I attended Sam Houston State University (Eat 'Em Up Kats!) and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2008. I earned my teaching certification and taught Business, Special Education, and Science.  I then attended Stephen F. Austin State University to earn my Master of Education in Leadership. Shortly after that, I decided to earn my school counseling certificate from San Angelo State with their Graduate Enhancement program.  This will be my ninth year in the Slocum Family, my third as the HS counselor. 

 I not only have the honor of teaching at Slocum, but I am also the proud parent of a Mighty Mustang and the aunt of a 2020 Slocum graduate!

My name is Macey Taylor, and I am the counselor for our PK-8 campus. I graduated from Slocum High School in 2016 and earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University in December 2020. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Stephen F. Austin State University. This is my fifth year working at Slocum, and I truly feel right at home here. Outside of work and school, I enjoy spending my free time with my precious baby girl, my husband, and my family and friends. Slocum is very meaningful to me, and I am dedicated to supporting our students as they learn and grow.
